Driving in the fog from Dallas to Houston I got passed by a dry van with a white trailer that disappeared into the fog about 4 seconds in front of me. I added 2 additional seconds to my clear weather following distance of 6 seconds to account for the poor visibility. I did this by counting seconds from when I could see a road sign to when I reached it.
