Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) aka Joker is an inmate at Arkham Asylum. There he meets the therapist Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel (Lady Gaga) aka Harley Quinn. An intimate relationship develops in which Arthur’s madness slowly but surely spreads to Harley.
