The broadbill swordfish is the ultimate challenge for most anglers, and in recent times they have been accessible in trailer boats close to the New Zealand coast. The growth of this new fishery has taken some of the aura from the mighty swordfish, that were once a rare catch. Catching a monster swordfish in the 1000lb class has long been the goal, and we witness the emotional rollercoaster of the battles as Matt, and his guest anglers, including his young son Shaw Watson, all push human endurance to the limit, in the pursuit of a truly monster swordfish.
