Gesetzlose überfallen eine Gruppe von Siedlern und töten alle außer einer schwangeren Frau, die von einer Gruppe von Indianern gerettet wird. Die Frau stirbt bei der Geburt, aber Häuptling Weißer Bär adoptiert ihr männliches Baby, gibt ihm den Namen “Shining Sky” und zieht es als Bruder seines eigenen Sohnes Black Wolf auf.
